We need a pet that we don't have to feed-TTSS

I love all our animals but I can't keep track of anymore mouths to feed. Enter the fabulous '70s creature the 'pet rock'. We spent a lazy day painting rocks and talking about what pets we MIGHT like to get next. This is a fun multi-step crafty project. I am fully aware that the wonderful and talented Carey host of Tuesdays Tips for Summer Survival has done a similar crafty thing but when this is what you planned, this is what you got right?

Step 1-find a rock the size of your fist...I gave this size requirement because my kids would automatically pick the biggest rock they can find and then never be able to carry it
Step 2-wash the rock and dry the rock...ponder rock names Sandy? Chip?
Step 3-paint the rocks preferably with 3-4 colors in various degrees of thickness-a parent should step in before the rock becomes muddled brown
Step 4 -place the rock in the blistering sun and run wildly through the slip n slide to remove excess paint
Step 5-wander off and forget the rock sweltering in the hot sun
Step 6-paint the rock with a modge podge for a shiny wet look because the paint you chose dried to a dusty finish**optional** hack into the modge podge jar when you discover that the damn thing is glued shut, smile while using your good fiskars because of course 'this. is. fun.'
Step 7-repeat steps 4 and 5
step 8 glue googly eyes on the rock and set it somewhere safe preferably NOT near a window or over the headboard of your child's bed

No rocks or children were harmed during the making of this blog post.

  3. ... and smile because this is fun... Bahaha!! How often do we have to remind ourselves of that?

I like the mod-podge to make it shiny idea. (I don't actually know much about mod-podge, but shiny sounds good!).
