SOS Food Bloggers Bake Sale& Vintage Giveaway Post
I have spent the last two days tearing it up in my kitchen and then yelling "don't eat that!" to anyone who dares breath around my bake sale goodies. Why the big panic? Well um let's see, I'm one lonely little blogger(liar!! I enlisted my mom and my sister to help me bake and my sister is putting me to shame) who set a rather lofty goal to raise 500 dollars in a 4 hour bake sale. *cough cough* I don't HAVE to make that much but I woud love to be able to send a 500 dollar check from the Great State of Alaska to help end childhood hunger in America.
Gaby came up with this fantastic idea to have 50 bloggers from 50 states hold simultaneous bake sales to help raise money and awareness. It has been quite something to be a part of, lots of planning, baking and yelling at people "DON'T BREATH NEAR THOSE SHORTBREAD" If you want to read more about Share Our Strength go here and be inspired.
Here are a few photos of some treats I'll be selling:
Texas Cake Brownies
Salted Caramel n' Peanut Cinnamon Rolls
Not pictured Fresh Bread, Honey Shortbread, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles, Cake pops and more I'm sure. Oh yeah, MY COMPLETE PANIC.
My sister is going ALL OUT, check it, she made Tiger Tail Cupcakes, Gingerbread Biscotti, Gorgeous Sugar Cookies and Espresso Shortbread shaped like coffee cups! Yeah I better step up my game hunh?
Wish you could help? You can! If you are local pop in to Fireside Books 720 Alaska Street in Palmer Saturday April 17th 10am-2pm. If you come to Palmer be aware that there is an outdoor gear swap at the Borough Gym you might want to check out too. Two reasons to come to Palmer, woot! If you are not local and still want to help you can donate by Paypal via the link at the top of this page.
Which brings me to the giveaway portion of my post: For every dollar donated I'll throw your name in the hat to win this:
What do I know about this pan, not a lot. I bought it out thrifting with every intention of reselling it. Then when I got the brilliant idea to giveaway something for paypal donations this was so beautiful I thought one of my readers might like it. Let's see, the Mckee company has been around since 1843, this piece was made after 1961 when the company was purchased by the Jeanette Company and the vegetable pattern is considered rare. That's about all I know well and that I love it, but you might too.
No flaming hoops, no follow me rules, cash is king, ok paypal is king it's the ONLY way to win gorgeous vintage milk glass loaf pan. What are you waiting for? You know your paypal account has those last few dollars in there or use a debit card those work too! Thanks so much for putting up with me and my hustling donations. Hope to see some of you at the bakesale and some of you online only.
This giveaway will end on Monday at midnight.
Peace and Love-
