Yum Hey What's for Dinner Mom?: The Penny Worthy Project

The Penny Worthy Project

Well the birthday party has come and gone, and it was a rip roaring success. We had 11 boys, drawing targets, shooting arrows, shooting bb guns and playing capture the flag. They also inhaled 2 packs of Newman Os, 3 gallons orange juice punch, 1 1/2 gallons of beef stew and 24 biscuits. Woooohoooo.

The cake was actually amazingly easy to assemble and turned out great. I have to say I was starting to panic about the cake, how could I possibly make a cake that would look like a stockade? And have people, kids even, see it and understand what it was? Well somehow it turned out great, lego guys, army guys and wildlife all included. We even had a few playmobil cannons on the fort too.

If you ever want to make a stockade cake, simply bake a 9X13 cake and cut it in a funky l_l shape. Then frost it with chocolate frosting, add broken pretzel rods around the edge like the fence and add a few candy windows and the arch over the entry way. Tada!

I also managed to get out thrifting. I scored awesome fabric pieces for making some fabric snack bags and lunch sacks.

Peace and Love--

  1. I love the fabric you've picked up. Lookign forward to seeing your lunch/snack bags, maybe you could do a tutorial. I know I would appreciate it.

  2. I agree with Shaheen; I would really like to see what you have done with your beautiful fabric :)

Am I talking DIRECTLY to you? Well then let me know!
