Just Another Meatless Monday

Hey What's For Dinner

Valentines Day Brie en Croute!

Just about the perfect vegetarian delight for any Valentine on your list. It simply means brie cheese in crust. And it's super easy. I made this today for my oldest son's birthday party. We all inhaled it, you will too!
Here's my son, being a cheese ball, no crust though, ha!! 19 and all grown up

Valentines Day Brie en Croute

1 sheet of puff pastry
two triangle wedges of brie
1/4 cup raspberry jam

thaw the puff pastry over night in the fridge
unfold the puff pastry sheet
sprinkle a wee bit of flour on the counter and lay the puff pastry on it
roll it out to about double it's size
remove the brie from it's wrappers and cut to resemble a heart
lay the pieces on the rolled out puff pastry
spread the jam on top of the brie
fold the pastry up and over the brie making sure to slightly exaggerate the heart shape
move to a baking sheet covered with foil or parchment paper
bake for 25-35 minutes or until the puff pastry is baked through
serve with bread or crackers

I shared a recipe for Valentine Day Linzer Hearts. Also, an article about the new science on the dangers of sugar, and I tried to answer the question: are grains toxic or safe?

    Thanks for hosting!

  5. I love puff pastry, it is so versatile and easy to use. I f i ever get to have gluten again, it will be a happy treat! Cut to make a heart, and very creative! I shared my favorite kale side of late, and a peanut butter dip that is super healthy and low fat!
