Everyone is invited to play along, all you have to do is post a geeky picture of yourself as your profile picture.
Why? Because we are (for the most part) swept up in the image of cool and beautiful. I have felt many times like I wasn't good enough because I didn't fit the 'norm' of beautiful, but you know what? I have spent enough time thinking that and hating myself for not fitting in. Last year I decided that Independence Day was also for getting free of my ego. I posted a horrible picture of myself, few of my friends joined in and we had a good laugh and it felt good to let it all go.
This year I decided to make it an event and invite anybody and everybody to get free from their ego. You are invited too! If you are on Facebook, join the fun here's the invite. When you join the events page you'll see all kind of hilarious pictures others have shared as well as the attendees geekiest profile pictures.

You were a pretty cute teenager, those glasses were really IN, and you had curls. I would have been so very jealous with my stick straight hair! Happy Independence Day!
