My finds this week were nothing special and exactly what I needed at the time. A bag of hot wheel cars for boys to use on their new hot wheel track. They each got ONE toy for Christmas and the one who got the track needed a few more cars that worked well. At ten cents apiece you can certainly get a bagful and have fun trying them out.
Neither of the little boys has ever been in to cars too much so we had to hit up the toy bin. They had fun looking and shopping (GASP) so close to after Christmas.
I found a James Beard cookbook--all about bread. Hmmmm perhaps not the best after Christmas diet and lifestyle cleanse choice in books. But I will read it and pass it on, I love James Beard.
And I bought these two little knives. I kinda like having oddball knives around, they can perk up a table. Plus I THINK they are bakelite. I don't know for sure, I need to do more research. Either way I am keeping them. I like the orange.

Oh, I know the where am I gonna put this pains well...I'm avoiding flea markets and thrifts for a little bit :P
ReplyDeleteI love little cars. Well, I don't love stepping on them :P but they are portable and occupy a child for a long time.
ReplyDeleteJust run those knife handles under really hot tap water for a few seconds and smell them. You'll know they're bakelite if they stink like chemicals! And even if they're not, they're still cute!
