I know you're not going to believe this but I didn't go thrift shopping but once this week and I bought nothing. True Story. My week was spent mudding my walls and ceilings and then furiously painting them in the hopes that our cabinets could go in today.
We really needed to pull them out of the garage where they've been cooling they're jets while we rewired the house (most of it) and built our new heater covers. We have got to start parking in the garage because believe it or not it was snowing here this morning. Dis-gust-ing. And much too early we still have green leaves but it is a reminder of what IS coming.
My main money saving project this week was making a meal plan, a shopping list and doing all my shopping from the list. I did add a few items to the cart not on the list but they were needed. This is for two weeks and will take us all the way up to the next pay day. I just find a good meal plan makes our food last longer because I'm not scrambling at the last moment to figure stuff out. Plus knowing I have a plan means I spend zero time each day freaking out over what to feed these people who expect food every single day.
I have some wiggle room here too because here it is Sunday and I've not started using this plan. My Mother in Law is to blame, she took our kids for the night on Friday and we slipped out for a sandwich. Then Saturday night she fed us and today she brought us soup because we were so busy in the kitchen. Intuitively she knew what we needed or perhaps it was the sheer panic on my face when she walked in while we were building our cabinets. Whatever it was she was brilliant so THANKS Grandma we love you and thanks for loving us.
How have you been spending your pennies?? Please I need to see thrifty goodness because I have none going on over here!
